Flying fish

It was a REALLY hot today, so we couldn't pass up Kevin's offer of a trip to the local beach this afternoon. The beach was lovely and calm (unlike the last few times we've been), and everyone had a great time cooling off. I had only just had a shower, so I brought my camera down and took photos instead of a swim.

The kids took turns jumping off Geoff and Kevin's shoulders and I was pleased to see the local kids getting more comfortable around us.

Jonas was brave enough to have a go on Geoff's shoulders.

While everyone was swimming, all of a sudden a large school of fish started jumping out of the water, so close to where everyone was standing. The kids were squealing with amazement, and I started snapping away with the camera, hoping to catch a shot of the flying fish!

This is one of three shots that worked. The fish must have cleared the water more than 6 or 7 times, all within about 10 or 15 seconds!

I'm trying to get good shots of all the local kids that our girls play with, and I was really happy with this one of Alison. How beautiful is she!

Millie stayed home from school again today, but was well enough to come to the beach this afternoon! Her malaria has gone, but she's fighting a cough and has low energy still, so we're happy to take it slowly. Thank you to everyone who's been praying. We are humbled to know you care.

It is hard to believe we only have four weeks to go. Ahh, time has gone so fast ...
